About
San Diego coastal resident Dot Renshaw paints the dramatic shadows of the morning or the fleeing light of dusk. She chooses locations others might miss – small trails, neighborhood canyons, and the juxtaposition of urban life against the delicacy of nature. Her work has a visceral presence allowing the viewer to sense the temperature, atmospheric conditions, and time of day the painting was completed. She also taught high school AP art for 32 years. Born and raised in Ventura, California and a Pacific Beach resident for 55 years, she remains deeply connected to the coastal environment. I love camping and painting on location at our beaches.
